Our Blog is Back!

Our Blog is Back!

Happy Friday, and welcome to our new blog! While we’ve had blog posts before, this is the first in our new series after starting a lot of new things here at Àuda.B! Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve been up to.....

  • We launched an assortment on Nordstrom.com, and have been recognized as the first Black-owned nail polish brand to join the Nordstrom family
  • We participated in NYFW Spring 2022 as the nail sponsor for two brands:
  • PatBO, a luxury RTW and Swim brand known for vibrant, colorful patterns and detailed embroidery
  • & Sergio Hudson, a luxury RTW brand known for statement pieces and bold colors
  • And the team grew by 1 when I joined as the Nail Educator! Hi, I’m Sam 😊 (more on me later...)

With all that we’ve worked on and experienced in 2022 thus far, just know that there is still so much more to come!

Why We’re Starting a Blog & What to Expect From it...

We’re starting a blog because we want to share all our favorite things with our community! We’ll use our blog to talk about all things NAILS (of course) like tips and tricks, nail art, the key to at home manicures, and so much more—in addition to other things, like fashion and lifestyle. With that said, and because the forefront of this blog will be about NAILS, I feel that it is only right to tell you all a little bit about me!

My name is Sam (short for Samantha), not to be confused with our powerful and ÀUDAcious leader, Sam (Samara), and I’m the Nail Educator for Àuda.B! I joined the team in December 2021, and am very excited to be a part of this young and fierce company. I’m a 100% self-taught nail artist, influencer, and content creator. I started painting my own nails when I was in high school (more than 10yrs ago) and it was always just a hobby and creative outlet to keep me busy. Back then, Instagram wasn’t even created yet, and so I learned how to do nail art from watching YouTube videos—tons and tons of YouTube videos. In terms of painting my own nails, nail art was always my main focus. When I started, nail art consisted of pink and white french manicures and whatever airbrush template the salon had, so I experimented and focused on unconventional and detailed nail art designs. It's almost hard to believe there was a time when nail art was not mainstream. But I continued to practice (on myself and others) and in 2015 I started Sammi’s Mani’s and created my own Instagram account specifically for my nail art--@sammismanis. Years later, here I am, still totally obsessed with all things NAILS.

In this blog series, I plan to share how easy it is to achieve an at home, good quality manicure. Sometimes I’ll share my tips, tricks, and nail art techniques. And sometimes I’ll talk about the health side of nails and share my hand care routine, and the importance of nail prep for long lasting mani’s. NAILS are my passion, and I’ve learned a lot through trial and error over the years. I’m excited to share everything that I’ve learned with you all and turn you all into your own self-taught manicurists’!

We’ll be posting a new blog post every Friday, and I hope you enjoy it!

Xx Sam
